      1. Who wears striped pants as a referee. I feel like the top was for Perfect, the bottoms for Piper and Perfect just said fuck it.

         1. The real idiot is Luger. Why would he agree to Perfect refereeing???

            1. Having watched so much of his run with our VVR series, he was portrayed like a real goof most of the time.

            2. Went to a house show at the Boston Garden a month after mania 10 and was very disappointed we got Luger vs Crush instead of the advertised Luger Perfect match.

            3. Same for me in Providence. Was it the Mania Revenge Tour?

            6. As a kid I didn’t realize that all the shows on a loop are pretty much the same so I would always want my Father to take me to not only the garden show but Providence, Worcester, Springfield, Lowell etc. Great debates with him as a 10 year old when he was explaining that to me.

10. Battle of the Network Stars in on the TV in front of me. This is terrible. Ronda Rousey looks great, though.

       1. The same can not be said for Kim Fields, Tom Arnold or Bronson Pinchot.

          The chick who played Blair on Facts of Life, though, surprisingly has held up. Though her nose ring looks silly.

                This tug of war they”re having basically featured both teams pulling while all lying on the sand because they fell over.

12. Watching the 2/19/90 MSG show.

    This Bad News Brown vs. Jim Brunzell match sure does suck.

    1. Jesus yeah I can’t imagine that to very watchable at all.

       1. Bad News is just awful here. Bret was right, this guy ate up every babyface he worked with, which is why no one wanted to have any feuds with him.

          1. Especially by 1990… end of the road for him, complete IDGAF mode

             1. At least Brunzell tried here. Bad News just killed the flow of the match

13. So I was watching 1994 Raw in my Network chrono-watch and decided to take a step back and go watch the older stuff, including the hilariously dull “Gagne-Metrics” video. Then they put up all the Mid-South and then the Old Schools and suddenly getting back to 1994 seems like a longshot.

    1. It’s amazing the stress of deciding what to watch when… I have so many paths going I’m not sure where to go half the time.

       1. Sometimes I just go in and search for memorable big pop moments for the hell of it.

    1. My initial thought was this was a bad idea. But last time Cal was in the NBA, the only star that he had from college was Marcus Camby. His former players all seem to love him and I can see guys wanting to play with him again.

          Could also be something with the potential draft class rules that is making him look at a change.

          1. I expected Jackson to have a rough go as President but I didn’t expect it to be that bad. Burying Carmelo Anthony to the media was ridiculous.

             1. The Ringer had a timeline of all his moves… what a train wreck.

             2. As terrible as Isiah was, at least he had the intention to make the team better. Phil just seemed to be there to be an ass. I guess we finally found out the triangle offense was done as a way to win.

             3. I think that was solidified a decade ago, but hopefully it is dead and buried now.

    1. Just looked up this show on Grahams site and it says it’s Dustys first match at msg in 6 years. That surprised me since he had been in wwf since the summer.

       2. I was so thirsty for any Akeem matches growing up. 10 year old JT would have melted at the ease of watching this stuff.

19. Main Event of this show is Powers of Pain & Fuji vs. Rockers & Duggan. Warlord having a rough night.

    1. So not as good as the famed PoP/Rockers MSG match from earlier in 90?

       1. Nope. Fuji & Warlord on offense was bad and the only interesting part was Shawn getting tossed around for a bit. Not a terrible match but its certainly nothing to seek out. The crowd was super into the Rockers though.

          This show was the night of nerve holds

20. Way to get a run in, boys.

    This should be a fun game…

    1. Was hoping for some early runs before I pass out.

       1. I interviewed Jane Leavy before the season started. Jane grew up a huge Mantle fan and wrote an amazing book about him called, The Last Boy.

          One thing we talked about was for the first time in a while- since Jeter retired- the Yankees didn’t have a guy. They have gone relatively smoothly from Ruth/Gherig to DiMaggio to Mantle to Munson/Jackson to Mattingly and then Jeter.

          It certainly seems like Judge has emerged to be that next Yankee superstar. It’s really unbelievable if you think about it.

          Also, Jane has written 3 of the best baseball books ever. She is working on a Babe Ruth book. I can’t freaking wait.

    2. Can’t believe Big Game James is still kicking around… totally forgot about him when he went to San Diego.
