MARCH 6
1990
All Japan Pro Wrestling held a card at Tokyo’s Budokan Hall. A match where Steve Williams and Terry Gordy faced Genichiro Tenryu and Stan Hansen ended in disqualification when Hansen brought a chair into the ring to get Williams away from Tenryu’s injured knee. However, Hansen then turned on Tenryu. Jumbo Tsuruta attempted a save, but Tenryu was too proud to accept his help. Also on the card, Mitsuharu Misawa (as Tiger Mask) and Kenta Kobashi had their first-ever singles match against each other. This match was not at the level of their more famous matches, but they would go on to have a legendary rivalry.

All Japan Pro Wrestling held a card at Tokyo’s Budokan Hall with an incredible main event, as Mitsuharu Misawa and Yoshinari Ogawa faced Kenta Kobashi and Jun Akiyama in a ****3/4 classic. Also on the card, Jumbo Tsuruta officially retired with a nice ceremony and Vader defeated Akira Taue to win the vacated AJPW Triple Crown.
Mae Young continued her awesome run in Power Pro Wrestling, facing Stacy in a really fun match. She made a spectacular entrance by telling everyone in the studio to shut up and threatening to hit fans with her cane. She made a huge production of taking off her glasses and watch. She also faked a heart attack after Stacy snapmared here, which was only to lure her in and hit Stacy with her purse. An indignant Cory Maclin complained that Mae made us think she was looking for her nitroglycerin pills. Earlier in the show, Mae cut a promo on all Memphis grandmothers for chewing tobacco and worked the studio audience into a frenzy.
