Views expressed in the Wednesday Walk do not necessarily reflect those of anyone but the writer. Do you have a link you want to see featured in next week’s Walk? Comment on the Walk post at the Place to Be Nation Facebook page, or find Glenn on the social media platform of your choice!

  • Sometimes it can be rough dealing with a haunted computer, especially if you don’t even know your computer is haunted. It’s important to know the signs.
  • Best practices for keeping your phone battery healthy seem to change about as often as diet fads.
  • So many of the objections to just giving money to people in poverty fall completely flat.
  • This Week in Free Movies: stream 175 more Paramount features from days gone by.
  • This Week in Photography: check out different foodstuffs in heat-vision.
  • Some play music because of a need that arises from deep within their souls, an ache that can only find expression through the violin or the saxaphone or an extraordinary xylophone. Some play music because that’s just kind of what their glove box door does.
  • One thing that seems simple in conception but can get difficult in execution is a general principle I like to phrase as: if there’s someone who uses information against you, do not give them information. It applies to toxic family members and one-time friends as much as it applies to cops.
  • One church advertized its showing of Inside Out with a poster touting In & Out, which is a very different movie that should actually still be fun for the whole family. Without having seen the film in at least ten years, I’d have to borrow a phrase from some Southern friends to remember In & Out: bless its heart, it tried. It might be interesting to take a look at how some of those 90’s gay movies hold up, actually — let me know if you want a podcast product about this.
  • Starcher Trek is the Archer/Star Trek: The Animated Series mashup I never knew I needed in my life.
  • One person ranks every Netflix original show, which of course means that no single other person will agree. I haven’t seen a lot of the shows, but I’d insist on pushing Jessica Jones to the top; Grace and Frankie is rather underrated too.
  • In a shocking twist, canned pumpkin actually is pumpkin, depending on the meaning of the word “pumpkin.” Now, what about my canned spice?
  • Let’s relax and watch things melt for a little while.
