Muddy Buddies
This last recipe requires NO cooking! It is quick, easy, and it is fun for kids to make! Did I mention it is delicious? I got this recipe off of the Chex cereal box and have made it at Christmas for many years. My husband’s family calls it puppy chow; no matter what you call it, it’s delicious.
Ingredients
2 c. Peanut butter
1 stick (1/2 c) butter
1 c. Chocolate chips
1 box Chex cereal
1 box confectioners sugar.
Instructions
Put butter, peanut butter and chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl. Heat in 30 second intervals, stirring after each, until completely melted and well combined. Pour into a large mixing bowl and stir in cereal. Mix until cereal is well coated, being careful to not break cereal if at all possible. Scoop the cereal into a large sealable bag or sealable plastic container. Add confectioners sugar and shake until cereal is covered. Place on a piece of wax paper to allow chocolate to dry. When complete store in an air tight container.
For a variation on this treat, try using white chocolate or any of the various Chex cereal flavors!
