1994
WCW Saturday Night featured an absolutely spine-chilling promo from Ric Flair regarding his upcoming SuperBrawl IV match against Vader, which was hurt by the Center Stage crowd being prompted to maintain cheers the whole time. This meant the emotion that it would have generated organically was negated. The show did a 2.4 rating.
1996
All Japan Women held a show at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo highlighted by a ***1/4 Captain’s Fall elimination match, where Manami Toyota, Mariko Yoshida, Kaoru Ito and Yumi Yukawa faced Takako Inoue, Kyoko Inoue, Chapparita Asari, Tomoko Watanabe and Kumiko Maekawa.
WCW Monday Nitro aired live from Tampa, FL, in front of 6,000 fans, most of whom got in for free as part of a promotion with George Steinbrenner. The main event had a shocking finish when Arn Anderson pinned Hulk Hogan. Also on the show, Ric Flair did a fun interview where he popped up off of a hospital gurney and had Woman and Miss Elizabeth by his side. The show did a record-setting 3.7 rating, as RAW was pre-empted, leaving Nitro unopposed for the night. You can watch this show on the WWE Network.
1998
WCW Thunder aired live from Oklahoma City, OK. The key angle was a confrontation between Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage, which seemed out of place considering that the Sting match at SuperBrawl would be happening in just over a week. The show did a 3.7 rating.
1999
ECW held Crossing The Line ’99 at the Elk’s Lodge in Queens, NY, in front of 1,000 fans. The major angle involved Shane Douglas symbolically leaving his wrestling boots in the ring and naming Tommy Dreamer as the new Franchise, much to the chagrin of Justin Credible and Lance Storm. Francine took a cane shot to the face in a shocking moment. Later in the show, Storm introduced Beulah McGillicutty as his new manager, but it was actually just Dawn Marie dressed as Beulah. Dreamer ran in to attack Storm until Credible and Jason helped Storm out. Finally, Shane Douglas and Francine made the save. Also on the show, Mustafa Saed returned to ECW and appeared to align himself with New Jack, but in a swerve, he turned on Jack and aligned himself with the Dudley Boys. Saed was also revealed as a benefactor who offered the Dudleys money to take out Public Enemy. The in-ring highlight of the show was a ***1/2 match between Super Crazy and Yoshihiro Taijiri, and in the main event, Rob Van Dam defeated Jerry Lynn.
