The Honor Report 4/26/14

– Sorry to start this week’s “Honor Report” on a sad note but I would like to send out condolences to former ROH Champion and current WWE Champion Bryan Danielson and his family for the passing of his father.

– This last weekend saw a new era in the promotion’s history start and one man capture the opportunity to take on the ROH champion or will the ROH champion have two, three or even four challengers gunning for the ROH Championship. Let’s have a look at the results:

Roderick Strong defeated ACH
Triple Threat match: Matt Taven, Tommaso Ciampa and Jay Lethal fought to a No Contest
Jay Briscoe defeated Mike Bennett
War Machine (Hanson and Raymond Rowe) defeated Adam Page and BJ Whitmer
Jay Diesel, Moose and Vinny Marseglia defeated Team Benchmark and Zizou Middoux
Defy Or Deny 3: (Originally Matt Taven was scheduled in this match but was injured and did not participate)
Adam Cole denied both Jimmy Jacobs and Mark Briscoe an opportunity at his ROH Championship for one whole year or while Adam Cole is still champion.

Michael Elgin defeated AJ Styles to earn an opportunity at the ROH Championship down the line.

This would be Shelley’s return to ROH since Supercard Of Honor V when he and Chris Sabin took on The Kings Of Wrestling for the ROH Tag Team Championship in 2010.

As Festus in FCW  he teamed with Sebastian Slater now know as Heath Slater (3MB member).

With both Gallows and Doc being on the same card, the IWGP Tag Team Championship will be on the line. The last time the IWGP Tag Team Championship was defended outside the country was last year in Houston, Texas  at NWA Houston Texas Parade Of Champions :A Tribute to Paul Boesch. Both the IWGP and NWA Tag Team Championship were on the line as The Killer Elite Squad: Lance Acher (formally known as former NWA Tag Team Champion Dallas and WWE/ECW Wrestler Vance Archer) and Davey Boy Smith Jr. and they took on The Kingz Of The Underground (Ryan Genesis and Scot Summers).

Both ROH and IWGP officials have finalized the cards for Global Wars on May 1oth and War of The Worlds on May 17th which are both live on the ROH USTREAM Channel.

It’s been confirmed that AJ Styles will participate in the 40th annual G1 Climax tournament. If AJ wins the tournament he will join WWE Hall of Famers Andre The Giant and Hulk Hogan in addition to Big Van Vader as the only American talent to win the tournament.
