So The Mandalorian S3 has begun and I could not be more thrilled. Watching this, after only one episode – I am reminded why I fell in love with Star Wars so much.

This series continues to be the only Star Wars project that evokes the spirit of the Star Wars we all fell in love with. Why no other series, cartoon or movie can accomplish this, I have no idea. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni know, so why doesn’t anyone ask them?

The very first episode we are treated to deep rooted tradition, honor respect and redemption. Mando wants to know how to redeem himself, where and how to be accepted into the order once again.

Then we get action, humor, cute puppets, simple bad guys who want to make trouble in alien make up. I mean this is all in the 1977’s classic. It is fun, it is a western, it is wanting to belong and believe. It is about making a difference – all of this is why the world fell madly in love with Star Wars. Cute critters trying to fix things, robots doing weird things, robots that we need to fix to get our lives back in order. Star Wars is not about rebellion and sticking it to the man like all these newer creations think it is.

It’s about creed, honor, belonging, hope, friendship – all things we cherish as people. Plus some goofy muppets to make us smile while we go through these feelings and some simple battles to keep us entertained.

This series is what the 1977 Star Wars is all about, if you want to smile again like a kid, enjoy this series, I know I am going to.
