Well here are we are again folks, yes it’s that time of year already. The Oscar buzz! Let me tell you one thing – Lady Gaga and her fans campaigned so hard for her to get an Oscar nomination, the fact that she didn’t get one, means she was really, really, really bad. I mean, I thought she sounded more vampire than Italian, but that’s just me. I mean reading those tweets and reviews – you would have thought Gaga was the next Meryl Streep or Mother Theresa! It was a bit insane and I’m glad her performance was recognized for what it was – just cheese and a bad accent.
Let me tell you another thing that got my goat. Spielberg nominated for Best Director and Best Picture?! The guy remade a 1960’s classic that won 12 Oscars!! He didn’t have to work that hard to copy a film that won 12 Oscars. I mean c’mon, isn’t that like cheating? Like drawing by numbers? Even if his version is brilliant – he had a brilliant movie to reference to!

Anyway, here are the nominations – for animated feature, I like Encanto because of Lin-Manuel, and I like Raya because I actually really like that movie and it’s message to kids. We’ll talk about this later. Have a great week! Watch this films if you haven’ already – especially Belfast, which is true artistry and originality. No remake there!!
