Tony’s Town Square Restaurant – Magic Kingdom (Mainstreet USA)
This was the last place we ate. One of my favorite Disney movies, second only to Alice in Wonderland, is Lady and the Tramp. If you have seen it, you likely remember Tony’s being the restaurant where Lady and the tramp had their first date. Tony and a couple of his friends serenaded them as they had the famous spaghetti kiss. When we were talking to the dining services assistant when making our reservations, he said this was a Lady and the Tramp themed Italian restaurant, I decided we HAD to go. They have three separate dinning areas, one of which was outside on a balcony. Our reservations were for the time that the light parade would be coming down Main Street. We got to the restaurant very early to be sure we would have front row seats to the parade. My husband ordered chicken parmigiana ($20.99), and of course I do not have a picture.

First if all, I apologize. This does not look at all appetizing. I had already eaten half of this before I remembered to take a picture. It can be very difficult to find an Italian dish to eat if you don’t like marinara sauce. My Italian staple is something with Alfredo sauce, but they offered no pasta dishes with Alfredo. I got the cannelloni. This was the description “filled with a mixture of ground beef and sausage, mozzarella and ricotta served with marinara and Alfredo cream sauce.” I, again trying to be adventurous, decided to take a chance. Obvious from the picture above, it was very good. My husband and I both enjoyed our meal very much. Then, it was time for my favorite part: dessert!

This was my husband’s dessert. It was a chocolate cake with a chocolate hazelnut icing. My husband said it tasted like chocolate cake with chocolate icing. It did have a hint of hazelnut. The cake was very moist and was a very good dessert. It appears that this is no longer on the menu. It may be a seasonal item, like the dessert I ordered.

On the dessert menu, one of the options was “chef’s signature cheesecake.” It’s seasonal, and the cheesecake they were serving was a pumpkin cheesecake. It came out on a round crust. It wasn’t like an individual pie shell, as it was just the bottom. It was more like they took a round graham cracker and piped this amazing, creamy cheesecake into it. It was very spicy. Not hot spicy, but there were a lot of spices like cinnamon and some others I was unable to identify. My husband was not so crazy about it because he doesn’t like pumpkin, but he said the consultancy was amazing. If you love pumpkin, this is definitely the dessert for you! Side note: the design on the plate of Lady and the Tramp was drawn in there with caramel sauce! It was very impressive and a nice added touch. I’d like to think they did that just for me, but I’m sure you could get one too.

While we were eating our dessert, a plump man came out and introduced himself as the manager. He told us that Tony really wanted to come out and meet us but he was very busy with Lady and the Tramp. The manager told us that Tony had trained him well though and he began singing “Belle Notte.” It went just like this:
In my mind at least. It was very romantic. Afterwards we went to the train station loading area and watched the firework show. It was perfect!
