10. Randy Savage & Miss Elizabeth – WrestleMania IV (23 Points)
Highest Ranking: #3 (Glenn Butler)
Displaying four outfits in four matches, the matching pair of Elizabeth and Randy Savage really showcased all the tools they could bring to the WWF without Hulk Hogan as champion for WrestleMania IV. From the colorful array of robes with the classic orange trunks with white stars to the elegant white outfit Ms. Elizabeth wears for the finale, the style displayed by Savage and Elizabeth at WrestleMania IV really showed why they were the quintessential couple in wrestling.
9. Randy Savage & Miss Elizabeth – WrestleMania III (26 Points)
Highest Ranking: #2 (Scott Criscuolo & Jason Greenhouse)
Randy Savage’s WrestleMania III attire can fly under the radar compared to the gauntlet of robes and outfits the following year but it gets its due here checking in one spot above WrestleMania IV on our list. Savage utilizes a unique maroon color for the robe that along with the blue trim really set a nice backdrop on the sun setting Silverdome. Elizabeth is wearing a beautiful spring pink dress to compliment everything. A truly classic outfit for a truly classic match.
8. Rey Mysterio – WrestleMania XXII (27 Points)
Highest Ranking: #2 (Chris Jordan)
Rey Mysterio has had a multitude of superhero outfits for WrestleMania but his tribute to an Aztec Warrior lands him on the list at #8. As tone deaf as the angle evoking the death of Eddy Guerrero was, the outfit and the culmination of Rey winning the World Title is a great stand alone moment and Rey had an epic entrance and outfit to celebrate the occasion.
7. Triple H – WrestleMania XXII (29 Points)
Highest Ranking: #1 (Scott Criscuolo)
Triple H was Game of Thrones before Game of Thrones. His Viking/Conan attire from WrestleMania 22 really set the stage for him being the King of Kings and a pivotal stumbling block John Cena had to run through to become the man. Of all the costumes and epic entrances Triple H has displayed over the years, this outfit set the tone and felt the most original and innovative.
6. Bobby Heenan – WrestleMania III (32 Points)
Highest Ranking: #3 (Neil Trama)
This was the biggest night of Bobby Heenan’s life. Like a sad groom that is left at the alter, Heenan sulking back to the locker room with his head down and tears staining his ***** restaurant waiter’s jacket is one of those iconic visuals in wrestling history. The gold compliments really set off this outfit, which he broke out this monumental evening.
5. Randy Savage – WrestleMania VII (34 Points)
Highest Ranking: #2 (Mike Eller, Tim Capel & Steven Ferrari)
Randy Savage’s attire in the 1990s was inconsistent and could be downright embarrassing at times. This attire at WrestleMania VII does the best job of merging Savage’s more traditional robes from the 80s to his more 90s modern approach as the Macho King. He is complimented by both Sherri looking like an evil queen and later Elizabeth wearing a top that could only be out of 1991. Savage may have thought this was the end for him and he picked a beautiful outfit for the occasion.
4. Ric Flair – WrestleMania XXIV (34 Points)
Highest Ranking: #1 (Glenn Butler)
Ric Flair has had numerous iconic robes but his choice for WrestleMania XXIV really did blend the old school classic feel of the best Flair robes with an updated and epic tome. Nothing is small time with the Nature Boy and this robe fit that with overflowing white feathers, a huge wing span and a deep royal blue that brings a lot of prestige. A great homage to the robe Flair wore at Starrcade 1983.
3. Rick Rude – WrestleMania V (42 Points)
Highest Ranking: #3 (Scott Criscuolo)
A great heel move is either putting a picture of your opponent or a woman on your ass. Rude maximized this and really displays the vibrant attire that was displayed throughout the 1980s. From the pink backdrop to the airbrush spot on likeness of the Ultimate Warrior, Rude’s WrestleMania V attire is one of his best throughout his career.
2. Ultimate Warrior – WrestleMania VII (58 Points)
Highest Ranking: #1 (Chris Jordan & Brian Bayless)
For someone that talked about gods, immortals and whatever other nonsense, Warrior’s WrestleMania VII attire really seemed note perfect in getting over the gravity of the match he was about to engage in. The parity of having Warrior on one kneepad and Savage on the other along with both on the trunks was a great touch. Add to that a robe that again merges the prominent decades of Warrior’s career and you have our best combined outfit in WrestleMania history between Warrior and Savage.
1. Shawn Michaels – WrestleMania XXV (65 Points)
Highest Ranking: #1 (Mike Eller, Tim Capel, Jason Greenhouse & Steve Riddle)
Light vs. Dark was the main theme of the battle between Shawn Michaels and Undertaker at WrestleMania 25. Michaels utilizes that theme to paint an epic picture coming out with a white robe and white cowboy hat. Shawn is also someone that loves his brown pants for big matches as the awful, turd colored Survivor Series 2002 tights will attest. Here, he uses a tasteful brown that displays himself as a heroic cowboy going up against the demonic Taker.
