EMMY WINNERS 2022

Okay here are the winners for this year. But let me just say – I am very frustrated that Better Call Saul and Barry were shut out. Those two guys are industry standards when it comes to quality work and great comedy. Why they were ignored and Ted Lasso continues to ramble on is beyond me. Some weird cosmic powers at work here.
Let me indulge in something else, if I may – and I think I will. White Lotus on HBO was nowhere near this good. It was ho-hum at best, AT BEST!! Nothing worth noting and definitely nothing worth winning. I didn’t even tell my friends to watch it. (Well except of course to see Sydney Sweeney) Look, if you don’t take the time to see Sydney Sweeney in whatever she is starring in at the time – you are seriously missing out. This girl is a firecracker!
Jennifer Coolidge (Stifler’s Mom) wins an Emmy for her part in White Lotus because she has talent and anyone with talent on that lame show stood out like a sore thumb. Do people still say that? Sore thumb? Well I do!
The big winners were just 3 shows. Succession, Ted Lasso and White Lotus. Not a wide range here with so many shows, but what can you do. Abbott Elementary snuck in there, which is big for a new show – if they continue doing whatever they are doing they could be the next Ted Lasso next year. Yea I know, no Barry and no Better Call Saul, two of the best shows alive right now. Like I said, what can you do. Maybe they pissed some people off or something.
I am very happy that Hollywood let in that Korean sensation Squid Games, which was just groundbreaking and phenomenal. America has a way of being snobby about these things, and I’m glad they included good work where good work resides. White Lotus practically sweeping the Emmy’s though is ridiculous, unless everyone is as in love with Sydney Sweeney as I am, which is totally understandable. Anyway – write me your thoughts and your hate mail, bring it all – I don’t mind. See ya here next Thursday kids! Enjoy the week!
