Steve’s Wonderful Lists of Disney: Villains #10-1

And now, it’s time to unveil my Top 10 Villains in Disney history:

10. Captain Hook (Peter Pan)

This sinister pirate wants nothing more than to rid Neverland of Peter Pan, but he is constantly thwarted by Peter while also being constantly stalked by a crocodile who wants to finish the job he started with Hook’s hand.

9. Mother Gothel (Tangled)

Kidnapping Rapunzel when she was a baby, she manipulates her while also using her magical hair to keep her young until Flynn cuts Rapunzel’s hair and causes Gothel to age rapidly before tumbling out of the tower window.

8. Hades (Hercules)

The ruler of the Underworld, Hades tries to get Hercules out of the way so he can rise up and conquer the other Gods only for Hercules to regain his immortality by saving Meg and he knocks Hades into the River Styx.

7. Queen Grimhilde (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)

The first villain in history, she longs to be the fairest in the land and seeks to eliminate Snow White by disguising herself as an old hag though she is stopped by the dwarfs and falls off a cliff during a storm.

6. Judge Claude Frollo (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)

This ruthless judge desires to eliminate all gypsies in Paris under the pretense of doing the work of God, but he is finally sent to Hell where he belongs after falling from the cathedral into the fiery molten pit.

5. Scar (The Lion King)

The younger brother of Mufasa who kills his brother in cold blood and forces Simba into exile, he rules the Pride Lands with an iron fist until Simba returns to reclaim his place as King and Scar is left to fend for himself against the hyenas.

4. Jafar (Aladdin)

The royal vizier of the Sultan, he manages to steal the lamp and uses the Genie to become Sultan though he is tricked by Aladdin to become a genie and he is trapped in his lamp as Genie shoots him off into the desert.

3. Ursula (The Little Mermaid)

This crafty sea witch looks to use Ariel to her advantage and take control of Atlantica as well as the rest of the ocean, but Ariel and Eric work together to destroy Ursula and Triton regains control of his throne.

2. Gaston (Beauty and the Beast)

This suave hunter believes himself to be perfect and desires to marry Belle to the point that he holds Maurice hostage and even battles with Beast, and he stabs Beast from behind though he loses his balance in the rain and falls to his death.

And now, the Number One Villain in Disney history:

1. Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)

The Mistress of Evil, she curses Aurora to a death curse and even turns into a dragon to try and kill Prince Philip only for Philip to destroy her, but she lives on in everyone’s minds as the greatest Disney Villain of all time.

That officially concludes this list and next week, I kick off the fourth and longest of the lists as I will rank all of the songs in Disney history.
